Megan Hendry is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She holds a Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of Wilfrid Laurier, a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Queen’s University.

Megan has experience working both individually and in groups with youth and adults in a wide variety of practice settings. Megan began her career volunteering at a local crisis centre, and has gone on to work in hospital, school and community mental health settings. Megan has supported her clients through a vast array of challenges, including but not limited to; anxiety, depression, gender and sexuality changes, chronic pain, domestic violence, and to name but a few.

In terms of her practice approach, Megan likes to offer flexibility to be able to meet her clients wherever they are on their unique journeys to healing. Megan believes no two clients experience any challenge in the exact same way, and likes to work collaboratively with her clients to find a treatment plan and approach that suits them best. Megan likes to draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities when conducting her work, including, but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Adult Attachment Interviewing, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness Based Practices and Self Compassion Work. Additionally, Megan also always strives to work from both a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice stance to support the safety and well-being of all the clients she works with.

Megan is deeply honoured and grateful to have the beautiful opportunity to walk alongside and support her clients as they face some of life’s gravest obstacles, and help to promote healing and lasting change within their lives. Outside of her therapeutic work, Megan is a passionate lover of musical theatre, cooking, writing, cats and slam poetry!
